Andriy Shevchenko has ruled out a move to Chelsea after playing down the significance of his row with AC Milan coach Carlo Ancelotti.

The Blues' hopes of finally signing the Ukraine striker grew after he was caught on camera arguing with Ancelotti about his decision to undergo surgery that ruled him out of the Rossoneri's pre-season trip to the USA, 4the game.com reported.

However, the 28-year-old insisted he was happy at Milan and that the dispute with the coach was nothing more than a minor misunderstanding.

"I don't want to go to Chelsea. I want to stay here. I love Milan and Milan loves me," Shevchenko told Sky Sports News.

"I had a discussion with Carlo Ancelotti about the decision to have my face operated again. I need to have metal pieces removed from my face.

"I have done nothing wrong. I discussed with Milan's surgeon that it was possible, and we decided on surgery.

"There was obviously a lack of communication with the coach. I thought he had been told. He hadn't. It's not my fault.

"Ancelotti was angry about it, and I understood it, because he thought there was a delay. I tried to explain everything to him, and I think everything is clear now."
