Anatoly Naumenko, the head of the Department of Drug Traffic Struggle of Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, decided to resign, as the President Yushchenko sharply criticized the work of his structure.

"The Department was justly criticized and I decided to resign. Now I go for vacation, I am tired, frankly speaking, but I hope to continue working in the system," said Naumenko in an interview to the newspaper "Segodnya."

As a reminder, the President of Ukraine Victor Yushchenko charged the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) and the Ministry of Health to develop a program concerning the fight with drug addiction during 30 days.

The President paid attention to the low statistic data about crime detecting. He was surprised by the fact that none international channel of drug supply was revealed in Kharkov, Kiev, Kherson regions and the Sevastopol city. "Either policemen are engaged in this (drug supply – ed.) or they are not policemen," declared Yushchenko.
