According to words of the chief of the State Service on Struggle with Economic Crime of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, Leonid Skalozub, the main target of his service is the bringing to account of corrupt state officials.
He reported about the revisions concerning plundering of the budget. He mentioned that his service has disclosed more than 28,000 crimes from the beginning of this year. The losses, caused by the crimes, make UAH 6.5 milliard ($1.3 milliard).
Skalozub pointed out the control on distilleries to be the priority trend of his service’s work.
610 crimes were detected in the sphere of alcohol production. The increasing of the legal production of alcohol beverages by 10% is a positive result of his service’s work, according to Leonid Skalozub.
