Reporters without Borders express its anxiety of Ukrainian minister of transport and communications edict about the state registration of web-sites. It must be come into force on May 29, 2005.
Reporters without Borders pointed to the fact that there is such registration only in the states suppressing the freedom of speech, such as Vietnam and China.
"This step may damage the freedom of word in the web. We will thoroughly watch for the registration procedure in order to prevent the registration of private sites," said the representatives of the organization.
Reporters without Borders mentioned that the criteria of registration will not guarantee the freedom of mass-media in Ukraine, "Interfax-Ukraine" reported.
We remind that the edict was held up couple hours before.
