The president of Ukraine Victor Yushchenko will head the Ukrainian delegation in the third summit of Council of Europe, which will take place in Warsaw on May 16-17, reported Boris Olyinik, the chairman of permanent delegation of Verkhovna Rada in Parliamentary Assembly Council of Europe.

According to Olyinik, during April session of PACE the members of Ukrainian delegation made specific suggestions to the draft of political declaration and to the plan of summit actions. He also declared that Ukraine speaks in support of simplification of visa procedure and assistance to the free service motion between Ukraine and countries-members of Council of Europe, in particular EU.

Besides, Olyinik reported that during the April session of PACE a special commission, charged with studying Yushchenko’s suggestions, was formed. Also PACE will form a group, charged with monitoring the coming parliamentary elections in Ukraine.

Olyinik informed that the president of PACE, René Van DER LINDEN, will visit Ukraine on July 6-9. He will be accompanied by five leaders of the political groups, which form Council of Europe.
